Stewardship is a way of life. It is a way of participating in our Church and a way of bringing God into the center of daily life. The roots of stewardship can be found in our biblical tradition which reveals our relationship to God as Creator and Giver of all gifts.
"When you have come into the land which the Lord, your God, is giving you as a heritage, and you have occupied it and settled in it, you shall take some first fruits of the various products of the soil which you harvest....,and putting them in a basket, you shall go to the place which the Lord, your God, chooses for the dwelling place of his name. The priest shall then set it in front of the altar of the Lord, your God." (Deuteronomy 26:1-2,4)
To be a steward means we are not owners of these gifts but, rather, grateful caretakers and servants. As stewards, Christian living means that we view our resources of time, talent and treasure as gifts from God. The way of life of Stewardship means that we choose to use our resources to reach out to others and build God's kingdom of love, justice and peace.
The central Mission of the Stewardship Council will be: • To plant & nurture the seeds of Stewardship, so that the spirit of generosity will truly come alive in our parish and we’ll become the cheerful givers God loves (2 Cor 9:6-11); enthusiastically welcome all new parishioners and to invite them to get involved in our various parish ministries & programs
